Overview

Sri Sri Academy’s curriculum is based on that of the ICSE and ISC, both of which are wellrecognised at home and abroad. Ours is an English-medium, co-educational institute geared to nurture and educate students from the level of pre-primary through high school, with class levels being introduced in phases. To ensure that every student receives individual attention, each class is divided into sections.

The curriculum is comprehensive and aims to empower each child with competitive skills and knowledge informed by social and ethical values. A day at the pre-primary level would encompass rhyme and rhythm, story-time, art and craft, dance, free-play, handling of sensorial apparatus, yoga and shloka time, and theme-based activities which help lay the foundation for a reading-writing programme. At the primary level (Classes II-V) a hands-on approach is practised which helps to develop a spirit of enquiry based on the sound pedagogical belief of learning by doing. Language and numeracy skills are acquired through the teaching of specific subjects such as English, Hindi, Mathematics, General Science, and Environmental Studies. Music, Drama, Physical Education and Gym Time, Yoga and Meditation, Technology and Art are all interwoven into the curriculum.

The curriculum in Middle School opens the vista of studying the three branches of Science (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) along with Humanities subjects (History, Geography) thereby kindling the spirit of exploring the wonders of scientific phenomenon in everyday life through their multifarious activities / experiments in well equipped Math / Science Laboratories. At this level, focus on strengthening the language, numerical, scientific and IT skills lay the foundation for development of interest in relevant course of study in higher classes.

Study of Sanskrit, the language of our ancient scriptures and the basis of most Indian languages, deepens the appreciation of our rich cultural heritage. Physical Education, specialized games such as Basketball, Football, Badminton, Karate, Yoga and Meditation, as part of the curriculum, emphasize the importance of a healthy mind in a healthy body for holistic development of light cases and attitude, suitable for a well rounded personality
